Bubble, bubble, bubble, win!, bubble, win!
Well the last month has been inconsistent to say the least. I keep trying to write about either a downswing or an upswing that has been affecting me recently, then it all switches up and I have to rethink my post again.
In the beginning of february, I had a terrible run which brought me down about $140 in losses, and I even had to drop down a notch in stakes to the $5 and $6s at PokerStars. Neither were doing me any good; I placed in 3 of the 4 $6 STT Turbos I played, getting a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, but the multitable SnGs were doing me in. I was playing very solid by my standards, but kept getting bubbled or bad beat playing against the maniacs at that level. Eventually, I won a 27-seater $6 turbo, but even that ~$85 win only just nullified all my losses from the first week of february.
Last night, I played in an $11 turbo 45-seater, again getting bubbled while getting my money in as the best hand, and did the same with a $5 45-seater. Tilt took over a little, and thank god I got my head straight before playing the $25 18-seater I joined (wayyy above my BR limits). I ended up getting a decent run of cards at the final of the two tables, and having alot of hands strong enough to push with the blinds hopping up to an eventual 1000/2000. I got lucky with a few races and thankfully took the whole thing down for $180; enough to bring my profits for february back up to a positive amount (just barely).
Anyways, swings swings and more swings…it’s oh so stressful. My bankroll’s up to ($604.36 on PS + $169.05 on FT + $127.55 on Mansion = ) $900.96. I’ve tried several times to withdraw money from Neteller but for whatever reason, the Neteller card’s service is ‘currently unavailable’. Nor is their live help or their support email, it seems; I’ve sent numerous emails and tried a bunch of times to talk to live help to no avail.
I’ve been playing alot of turbos lately, and I think I might write an article/post about them for my next blog entry. I’ll be waiting on Chris to make any corrections on it since he’s pretty much the Turbo guru.
Another thing I might do is finish off the Harrington on Holdem book review. I kind of trailed off and never finished volume 1, and I think we’ve got great discussion going on as of late with the HA and poker strategy forums, so it should be fun.
Anyways here’s to the hope that you’re all having a more consistent time at the tables than I am!
