You Know What’s Great About Not Being a Pro?

Fredrik Paulsson @ 3:55 pm - Filed under Poker General.

You don’t have to play poker. You can “just not feel like it” for extended periods of time. You can have a really bad streak and do the healthy thing and stay away from the game, because you don’t need the money and you don’t have to win it back. It’s okay to take a month and tinker with micro limit O8 just for fun. Or take shots at bigger games. It’s okay to hate the game for awhile. It’s even okay to hate the game forever, and never come back to it.

I don’t hate poker. I haven’t had a recent downswing and I haven’t stayed away for an extended period of time. But I can if I want to, and just knowing that makes me almost giddy with the prospect of never becoming a professional.
